Whether you’re an employer looking to implement a drug screening program, or an individual satisfying a drug test requirement, or if you need to have DNA testing done, we can handle it all at Blue Arbor.
Let’s face it. Any kind of testing can be a little bit nerve-racking, but it can help if you know what to expect.
Here are some Frequently Asked Questions we get at Blue Arbor about how we conduct screening and testing services. Please keep in mind, the same might not be true of every testing agency, so we don’t claim this information is applicable in all screening/testing situations.
Screening & Testing FAQ
My (current or prospective) employer is requiring me to get a drug test. Do I need an appointment?
No, appointments are not required for drug testing. We accept walk-ins. We do ask that donors having Federal or DOT screens report for testing no later than 2pm.
Once I’m in your office for a test, how long should I expect to have to be there?
Most of the time, the collection process begins minutes after you arrive at one of our sites. In the case you have a shy bladder, or you’re otherwise struggling to produce a specimen, you’ll simply have to remain on site until you are able to produce the required specimen ”” up to three hours. Don’t worry, though. It doesn’t usually take that long!
What do I need to bring when I report for my drug test?
All donors must present a photo ID. If your company has given you a Custody and Control Form (Chain of Custody form), or an Authorization/Protocol sheet, please bring that as well.
I take medicine that I’m worried might affect my drug test results. Should I bring in my prescriptions?
The Collector/Collection Site (in other words, in this case, Blue Arbor) is not authorized to take medical information. Most Employers who require testing will have a Medical Review Officer (MRO) who is a licensed physician that reviews their drug test results. If for some reason your test results are positive for any substance and your Employer uses an MRO, the MRO will call you directly to discuss your prescription(s) and/or over-the counter medication(s).
When or how will I know the results of my drug test?
You may not hear anything regarding your drug test result. If your test is positive and your Employer utilizes the services of a Medical Review Officer (MRO), the MRO will contact you directly to discuss the results of your test.
Am I allowed to bring my child(ren) with me when I come for testing?
Due to our safety policy, minors are not permitted in our office unless they are screening participants (for instance, DNA testing).
How much does a DNA test cost?
Well, it depends. There are many variables that affect the total cost of a DNA test, for instance: Does the test need to be legally admissible? How many persons are being tested? Where are the collections taking place? What type of specimen is being submitted, etc? Because each situation is unique, please contact our office to discuss your individual needs. Pricing will vary based on these factors.
